Community Guidelines for MusoLink
Last updated: August 2025
Welcome to the MusoLink community! These Community Guidelines apply to all users of the MusoLink app and services, including individual users, schools, teachers, students, and organisations. By using MusoLink, you agree to follow these guidelines alongside our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
OUR COMMUNITY VALUES
MusoLink is built on the foundation that practice makes progress, and community makes practice meaningful. We’re here to support each other’s musical journeys in a safe, encouraging, and productive environment.
COMMUNITY STANDARDS
Respect Each Other
- Treat fellow musicians with kindness, even if you disagree.
- No bullying, harassment, or personal attacks.
- Respect different skill levels, musical styles, and learning approaches.
- Use inclusive language that welcomes musicians of all backgrounds and abilities.
Keep It Relevant
- Groups are for practice, music, and band-related discussion.
- Off-topic promotions, ads, or spam don’t belong here.
- Commercial solicitation is prohibited unless explicitly permitted by group administrators.
- Stay focused on musical growth, practice accountability, and supportive discussion.
Share Positively
- Feedback is welcome, but keep it constructive and specific.
- Celebrate effort, progress, and creativity — we’re all learning.
- When offering criticism, focus on the music or technique, not the person.
- Encourage experimentation and growth, especially for beginning musicians.
Safe and Appropriate Content
- No hate speech, offensive material, or anything illegal.
- Only share recordings, images, or notes you have the right to share.
- Content must be appropriate for all ages, including minors under 18.
- Respect copyright laws when sharing musical content, covers, or arrangements.
Group Leaders Set the Tone
- Each group can add extra rules (like rehearsal schedules or repertoire guidelines).
- Leaders and admins can remove posts or members that don’t fit the group’s purpose.
- Group administrators are responsible for maintaining their group’s standards.
- Appeals regarding group-level decisions should be directed to the group administrator first.
